San Juan Opico Opens a Bitcoin Learning Zone

The Ingeniero Rigoberto Orellana CUBO in San Juan Opico opened a Bitcoin Zone with a library and a real-time screen.

--- The context --- In Sitio del Niño, San Juan Opico, La Libertad, the Ingeniero Rigoberto Orellana CUBO was the first such center built during President Nayib Bukele's administration. It now adds a space devoted to learning about Bitcoin for its own community. --- The facts --- The center has opened a new Bitcoin Zone, the fifth space of its kind enabled in El Salvador. It holds a library with material on Bitcoin, economics, money and finance, plus a screen showing real-time information to support interactive learning. The opening included recreational activities and the handing out of Bitcoin-themed pupusas. --- The positions --- The purpose expressed by the opening itself is educational: bringing content on Bitcoin, economics, money and finance closer to children, young people and families, and widening training opportunities within the community through interactive learning inside the center. --- What remains unknown --- The available information does not specify the new area's opening hours, its schedule of activities, or who will be in charge of running it day to day. --- Unanswered questions --- What hours will the Bitcoin Zone keep each week? Will there be guided sessions for children and young people, or will use be open and free? Who will support the families who come to learn? --- EPM analysis --- The central fact is continuity: an existing community center adds a themed classroom and becomes the fifth space of its kind in the country. Its real reach will depend on the everyday use local families make of it. 📌 EPM Take: In EPM's view, the news matters for its human scale: this is not a large complex, but a classroom inside a center the community already knows and uses. A library, a real-time screen and activities for families form a package designed for learning by doing. If the space stays active week after week, it can become a training meeting point for Sitio del Niño; if it remains an opening-day gesture, its effect will be short.
