--- The context --- Colombia's National Army reported dismantling the Eiber González Company, part of the residual organized armed group Adán Izquierdo, a faction of Iván Mordisco, in El Cerrito, Valle del Cauca. According to the Army, the company is accused of coercing, attacking and extorting civilians. --- The facts --- The operation took place in the village of El Moral, in the Tenerife district. The preliminary toll is one member killed in military operations, three captured and a 17-year-old minor apprehended. Among those captured is Alex Antonio Jaramillo Hoyos, alias 'J. J.', identified as the alleged leader, who was wounded. Troops from the Third Division, the 3rd Brigade and Air Combat Command No. 7 took part. Troops seized four rifles, one shotgun, one pistol, two revolvers and a homemade mortar, along with 16 drone grenades, seven explosive devices, 12 magazines and 153 cartridges. They also reported one motorcycle, 13 cell phones, a laptop, five radios, a security camera, a Starlink antenna, quartermaster supplies, 12 banners and 11 million pesos in cash. --- The positions --- The only account known is the Army's, which states that the operation affects the company's command structure and finances. --- What remains unknown --- The judicial status of those captured, the health of the wounded alleged leader and the measures regarding the apprehended minor remain unspecified. --- Unanswered questions --- What will be the judicial status of those captured and of the minor? How is the wounded alleged leader recovering? Will the military presence in Tenerife continue? --- EPM analysis --- The seized materiel, including drone grenades and a Starlink antenna, suggests a structure with logistical capacity. The challenge will be turning the result into sustained security for local communities. 📌 EPM Take: In EPM's view, the reported blow against the company should be measured by its real effects on the safety of communities in central Valle del Cauca and by clarifying the situation of those captured, the apprehended minor and the wounded alleged leader, for whom no judicial decisions or complete official updates are yet known, and whose cases will require transparent judicial follow-up in the coming days.
